\n\tKenosha, Wis. – The Kingfish (14-5) take on the Wisconsin Woodchucks (6-10) at 3:05 p.m. at Simmons Field today. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Kingfish shut out the Woodchucks by a final of 9-0 yesterday.  Josh Serio improved to 4-0 on the year after throwing five innings and six strikeouts.  Bobby Sheppard led the Kingfish at the plate, going 3-4 with two RBIs. \n<\/p>\n

\n\t2014 Northwoods League All-Star Rico Garcia makes his first start of the season for the Kingfish. Last season, Garcia started 11 games and threw over 66 innings of work, compiling a 5-2 record along the way.  The ace was first on the team in strikeouts (52) and ERA (1.89) among starting pitchers. Garcia’s 0.98 WHIP was one of the best in the Northwoods League.  Along with his All-Star selection, Garcia was also picked as the 10th<\/sup> best prospect in the Northwoods League by the 18 Northwoods League field managers.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tFor the Woodchucks, Devin Skapura gets the nod to start.  The righty from Kingwood Texas  is 0-1 on the year in one appearance with two strikeouts.  Skapura attends Texas AM Corpus Christi.   \n<\/p>\n

\n\tAt today’s game, Uke’s Harley Davidson Mini Bike Elvis Bobbleheads will be distributed to fans.  A limited amount of bobbleheads are available so make sure to arrive early to Simmons Field to claim one.  Tickets are $2 off to veterans and active military members on Sunday, June 14th<\/sup> as part of Columbia College Military Appreciation Sundays.   For the kids, a Petting Zoo sponsored by Jerry Smith Pumpkin Farm will be down in the Aurora Health Club Kid Zone and after the game kids get to run the bases.\n<\/p>\n

Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
