{"id":4116,"date":"2015-07-22T19:19:53","date_gmt":"2015-07-22T19:19:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/kenosha-kingfish\/?p=4116"},"modified":"2018-01-04T19:00:37","modified_gmt":"2018-01-05T01:00:37","slug":"filia-named-star-of-stars-of-all-star-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/kenosha-kingfish\/2015\/07\/22\/filia-named-star-of-stars-of-all-star-game\/","title":{"rendered":"Filia Named \u201cStar of Stars\u201d of All-Star Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<u>Filia Named &ldquo;Star of Stars&rdquo; of All-Star Game<\/u>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKingfish outfielder Eric Filia earned &ldquo;Star of Stars&rdquo; honors in Tuesday night&rsquo;s Marshfield Clinic Northwoods League All-Star Game.&nbsp; The South Division defeated the North Division by a final of 3-1 at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFilia finished the game by going 1-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.&nbsp; The UCLA product also scored the go-ahead run in the first inning after an error by the North.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFilia is third in the Northwoods League in batting average and hits this summer.&nbsp; The Kingfish outfielder also has two home runs and 25 RBIs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAlso representing the Kingfish at the All-Star game were position players Jason Scholl and Alex Borglin.&nbsp; Kingfish pitchers Ryan Orr and P.J. Schuster pitched a third on an inning each, with Schuster securing the save for the South.&nbsp; Kenosha Manager Duffy Dyer and the rest of the Kingfish coaching staff coached the South team after the Kingfish won the first half South Division title.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Kingfish are off Wednesday, July 22<sup>nd<\/sup> and resume play Thursday, July 23<sup>rd<\/sup> at Battle Creek.&nbsp; The Kingfish return home Saturday, July 25<sup>th<\/sup> to host Battle Creek at 6:05 p.m.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Kingfish ticket office powered by Platinum Systems office is located at 7817 Sheridan Road and is open from&nbsp;8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday&nbsp;through&nbsp;Friday&nbsp;and from&nbsp;8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.&nbsp;The Kingfish ticket office Powered by Platinum systems is open from 8:30am until the end of the game on home game dates. Playing its 21st&nbsp;season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 120 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM) and Ben Zobrist (OAK).
