{"id":4141,"date":"2015-07-26T02:14:26","date_gmt":"2015-07-26T02:14:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/kenosha-kingfish\/?p=4141"},"modified":"2018-01-04T19:00:25","modified_gmt":"2018-01-05T01:00:25","slug":"kingfish-drop-bombers-6-2-at-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/kenosha-kingfish\/2015\/07\/26\/kingfish-drop-bombers-6-2-at-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Kingfish Drop Bombers 6-2 at Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<strong><u>Kingfish Drop Bombers 6-2 at Home<\/u><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKenosha, Wis. &ndash; No extra base hits on the night for the Kingfish, but a spectacular pitching performance and a couple of two out runs were all the Kingfish needed in a 6-2 victory over the Battle Creek Bombers Saturday night at Simmons Field.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Kingfish (39-19) scored first in the bottom of the second on a two out RBI single by Mitch Gasbarro to bring around Jeremy Vasquez and make it 1-0 Kingfish.&nbsp; Continuing with the trend, the Kingfish scored with two outs in the bottom of the third inning. First, Vasquez reached home on a wild pitch.&nbsp;&nbsp; Later in the inning, with the bases full of Kingfish, Zach Weigel reached on an error by the left fielder, scoring two runs.&nbsp; An RBI single from Eric Filia and a run via an error by the Bombers gave Kenosha a 6-0 lead after six.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tGasbarro powered the offense with a 3-3 performance with a walk and RBI.&nbsp; Vasquez scored two runs and Filia chipped in an RBI.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t2015 Northwoods Leauge All-Star P.J. Schuster was sharp in his first game since the All-Star break.&nbsp; The Kingfish righty pitched seven innings of shutout ball, scattering four hits with six strikeouts. Schuster has now lasted at least six innings in his last six starts.&nbsp; Trevor Haas worked the eighth inning and J.D. Nielsen came on in the ninth to secure the win for the Kingfish.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tGriffin Weir took the loss for the Bombers (19-38) on the night.&nbsp; Weir surrendered five runs, two earned, on four hits with five walks.&nbsp; Niko Pacheco delivered the only runs for the Bombers with his two RBI single in the ninth inning.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOn Sunday, July 26<sup>th<\/sup> at 5:05 p.m. the Kingfish are home on Twin Disc Bobbleboat Giveaway day.&nbsp; Do not miss your chance to secure a replica bobbleboat of the famed Twin Disc Bambino out in left field at Simmons Field.
