Charlie Hecht from Georgia College and State University and Kyle Michalik from The Ohio State University will take the field in Kingfish uniforms this summer.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHecht hails from Johns Creek, Georiga originally. As a freshman at Georgia College, he towed the slab 11 times and picked up 4 wins. He struck out 24 and walked 20, and opposing batters hit .315 off of him over the course of the season. Hecht&rsquo;s 4.81 ERA was good for second on the starting rotation.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFollowing in the footsteps of players such as Pat Porter, Nick Sergakis, Zach Ratcliff, and Shea Murray, another Ohio State Buckeye will be joining the Kingfish. This time, it is Kyle Michalik: a sophomore from Brunswick, Ohio. Michalik made 18 appearances out of the bullpen last year for Ohio State, and notched an ERA of 2.84. In his 19 innings of action, he only allowed 6 runs and 5 walks.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBoth pitchers will join a Kingfish staff that posted a team ERA of 3.82, in 2015 which was 5<sup>th<\/sup> best in the Northwoods League last year. The Kingfish will open up play this summer at home against the La Crosse Loggers on May 31 at 7:05 CST.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSingle game tickets go on-sale April 30<sup>th<\/sup> at 9am. Playing its 23rd&nbsp;season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 140&nbsp;Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Lucas Duda (NYM)) and Ben Zobrist (CHC).
