\n\tKenosha, Wis. – It’s opening week in Wisconsin in the Northwoods League presented by Edvest.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe last time the Kingfish took the field, they were crowned Northwoods League champions. The Kingfish played their first game following the title match this evening, and ended it with a walk off single to defeat the La Crosse Loggers.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tKian O’Brien was the hero of the night. With the bases loaded, one out, and a 1-2 count, O’Brien drove an inside pitch to left field and plated Wes Weeks. O’Brien had a terrific outing in general, as he finished 3 for 4 with an RBI.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMatt Hearn had a successful evening, going 2 for 3 with a walk, while Jack Yalowitz went 1 for 3, drew a walk, and scored a run. Cal Jadacki ripped a big RBI double in the fourth inning, which served as the only Kingfish extra base hit of the night.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBrendon Allen took the mound for the Kingfish and had an excellent return to Kenosha. The junior at Eastern Illinois worked 6 innings of action, recorded 9 strikeouts, and allowed a mere 3 hits. Rigo Beltran made his Kingfish debut and worked two perfect innings, while striking out five.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe victory is the first home opener win in franchise history. The Kingfish will host the La Crosse Loggers tomorrow at 6:35CT before heading to Green Bay for a two game series.\n<\/p>\n
