\n\tKenosha, Wis. – It’s opening week in Wisconsin in the Northwoods League presented by Edvest.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tOn a muggy, Saturday afternoon at Simmons Field, the Kenosha Kingfish met the Waterloo Bucks on the diamond. Fog rolled in and made it impossible to finish the game in 9 innings, so the game was ended after 5, giving the Kingfish a 2-1 victory.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tDerek Heffel took the mound for the Kingfish and made his first start in the Northwoods League. He pitched all 5 innings, allowed just 3 hits, and an unearned run. He was also making batters look foolish all night as he struck out 9.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tOffensively, the Kingfish totaled 3 hits. Pete Schuler had the highlight of the night as he belted a homerun to straightaway center field, measuring at over 400 feet. Kian O’Brien and Nick Kanavas each had base hits as well.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Kingfish will finish their series with Waterloo tomorrow before heading to Kalamazoo on Monday.\n<\/p>\n
