\n\tKENOSHA, Wis. – The Kenosha Kingfish (27-18, 5-6) had a four game win streak snapped on Saturday as the Madison Mallards (25-22, 6-5) smacked 14 hits en route to an 8-2 win at Historic Simmons Field. With the loss, the Kingfish fell to 17-7 at home for the year heading into the All-Star break.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tLuck wasn’t on Kenosha’s side from the beginning in this game, as Madison left fielder Zac Taylor (Illinois) ripped a screaming line drive right at Illini teammate and Kingfish shortstop Ben Troike (Illinois), with the ball hitting the dirt right in front of Troike and skipping past him into the game for a one-out double in the first. Taylor then scored on an RBI single by designated hitter Sam Armstrong (Jacksonville).\n<\/p>\n
\n\tKenosha’s only offense of the game came in brief spurts in the second and third innings, starting with designated hitter Tyler Paulsen (Illinois State) clubbing his third home run of the season to the Bambino in left field to tie the game. Paulsen then chased home another run in the third with an RBI single to briefly give the Kingfish their only lead of the game.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMadison’s offense got started again in the fifth inning against Kenosha reliever Austin Paisar (Eastern New Mexico), as they tied the game up with a sacrifice fly by center fielder Doran Turchin (Illinois).\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe next blow Turchin delivered was more severe, when he smacked a solo homer in the seventh inning. Taylor ultimately put things out of reach in the eighth inning, hitting a 3-run homer that doubled the Mallards’ lead and gave the game its final score.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tKenosha starter Logan Wiley (Missouri State) pitched three innings of one-run ball to start this one off, and picked up a no decision in the effort.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tCenter fielder Connor Doyle (University of San Diego) finished the game 2-for-5 in the leadoff spot to accompany Paulsen’s two-hit, two-RBI evening. First baseman Derek Bangert (Bradley) went 1-for-3 with a walk to extend his on-base streak to 42 games, while third baseman Tim Millard (Dallas Baptist) went 1-for-4 with a double.\n<\/p>\n
