Kenosha, Wis. \u2013 Three pitchers who saw action on the mound with the Kingfish in 2017 have signed to play with the team again in 2018.\u00a0 Nick Long (Florida), Max Rimac (Cisco College) and Jacob DeLabio (Northern Illinois) are all committed to the team this season. DeLabio is a 2016 Kenosha Tremper graduate.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s nice to have some pitchers back this season\u201d said manager Duffy Dyer.\u00a0 \u201cI think a key to being successful in the Northwoods League is have a few players back who have experience playing summer ball.\u201d<\/p>\n
Long has the most experience with the Kingfish out of the three.\u00a0 The 6\u20190\u201d 195 right hander made nine appearances for the team last season, including four starts.\u00a0 He was 3-0 with a 4.68 ERA in 32.2 innings pitched.\u00a0 He was third on the team with 41 strikeouts.<\/p>\n
\u201cNick has a good curve ball and despite only making a handful of starts for the Kingfish last season he showed me a lot.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking forward to seeing him pitch in our rotation all season\u201d said Dyer.<\/p>\n
DeLabio and Rimac did not see as much time on the mound as Long for Kenosha in 2017, but they will be looked at for bigger roles this season.\u00a0 The local product DeLabio, made three appearances out of the bullpen last year for the Kingfish. \u00a0The 6\u20195\u201d righty was 0-1 with three strike outs in 4.2 innings pitched.\u00a0 Rimac a 6\u20194\u201d left handed pitcher was 1-1 in four appearances for the team last season.\u00a0 He pitched 6.1 innings and had an ERA of 5.68.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m happy that both Max and Jacob are back to show what they can do over a full season\u201d said Dyer. \u201cWe saw a few glimpses of their talent in 2017 and we\u2019ll be leaning more on them in 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n
