The Kenosha Kingfish have signed three players from the Atlantic Coast Conference to play for the team during the 2018 summer season. Devin Ortiz (Virgina), Jack Weiller (Virginia) plus Pat Rumoro (Louisville) have been added to the roster.<\/p>\n
Ortiz is a 6\u20192\u201d 175 lb. infielder from Nutley, New Jersey.\u00a0 He was named a Rawlings\/Perfect Game 2nd<\/sup> Team All-American as a high school senior last season.\u00a0 As a right-handed pitcher, he was 19-3 during his prep career.\u00a0 At the plate he hit .541 with five home runs as a senior.\u00a0 He projects to provide depth at both shortstop and third base for the Kingfish.<\/p>\n Weiller, is a 6\u20190\u201d 185 lb. junior infielder from Waccabuc, New York.\u00a0 During his prep career he hit .397 and was named to the 2015 ABCA\/Rawlings High School All Northeast team.\u00a0 Weiller will see time at first, second and third base this summer.<\/p>\n \u201cOrtiz and Weiller are from a really good program at Virgina,\u201d said Kingfish manager Duffy Dyer. \u201cThey will both provide depth in our infield this season and produce some runs for us as well.\u201d<\/p>\n Pat Rumoro is a 5\u201910\u201d 190 lb. right-handed hitting junior catcher from Oak Park, Illinois.\u00a0 As a senior in high school, he was named an All-State Selection by the Chicago Tribune.\u00a0 That season he hit .400 with 12 doubles and 41 RBI.<\/p>\n \u201cRumoro is off to a really good start at the plate for Louisville this season,\u201d said Dyer.\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to working with him in Kenosha.\u00a0 I really like how our backstop position is shaping up in 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n Opening Day for the Kingfish is May 29th<\/sup> against the 2017 South Division Champion Battle Creek Bombers.\u00a0 The game begins at 6:35 PM at Historic Simmons Field.\u00a0 2018 marks the fifth season of Kingfish Baseball in Kenosha.<\/p>\n Meijer 7-Game Packs, season ticket packages, partial season tickets and group outings are now on sale.
