Kenosha, Wis. \u2013 The Kenosha Kingfish (5-9) lost to the Wisconsin Rapid Rafters (10-5) by a score of 8-1.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting on the mound for the Fish Tuesday night was Kaleb Schmidt (Drury University). Schmidt threw 85 pitches completing five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out four. Jake Kopp (Madison College) came in relief in the sixth inning and pitched 1.2 innings, giving up two earned runs including a homerun. <\/span><\/p>\n

Kevin Napoleon (Butler) entered in the seventh inning, and pitched 1.1 innings allowing two earned runs and striking out three. Josh Serio (UW-Milwaukee) came in to pitch the ninth, allowing one earned run on one hit and striking out two. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Rafters put Brecken Lewis (Dixie State) on the mound on Tuesday night. He pitched six strong innings allowing four hits and striking out six. Kyle Hodgson (Framingham State) followed Lewis, pitching two innings and allowing the one run for the Kingfish, an inside the park homerun by Devin Ortiz (Virginia). Hunter Waldis (Seton Hall) pitched the final inning for the Rafters on Tuesday night. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Rafters scored eight runs on eleven hits, including two homeruns by Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV) and Brody Wofford (Central Florida). <\/span><\/p>\n

For the Kingfish, Devin Ortiz\u2019s inside the park homerun was the highlight of the night with the ball getting hung up in the lights in center field. The ball bounced off the wall, and Ortiz hustled all the way around the bases to score the only run of the game for the Fish. Jack Weiller (Virginia) also had a good night at the plate going 2-4. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Kingfish will be back for game of the series tomorrow night, June 13th, against the Wisconsin Rapid Rafters. First pitch at Historic Simmons Field is \u00a0set for 6:35. <\/span><\/p>\n
