KALAMAZOO, Mich. \u2013 After a back and forth battle throughout, the Kenosha Kingfish (7-16) lost 7-6 to the Kalamazoo Growlers (18-6) in the final game of the road trip.<\/p>\n

Cale Cuddie (UW-Stevens Point) got the start for Kenosha, his fourth on the season. The Growlers entered the game on a nine game winning streak and it showed early on. They were able to score five runs in the first three innings of the game. Cuddie went 2.1 innings giving up three runs on three hits with one strikeout.<\/p>\n

The Kingfish had a productive day at the plate, putting four on the board in the top of the fourth. The inning started with a Connor Doyle (San Diego) double off the wall in deep center.<\/p>\n

Later, Jack Weiller (Virginia) walked and Doyle scored on a wild pitch to the next batter Evan McDonald (Fairleigh Dickinson). McDonald was eventually put on when he was hit by a pitch. On the very next pitch, Mike Madej (NW Florida State) hit a home run to deep left field.<\/p>\n

The home run was Madej\u2019s first on the season and put him over the 10 RBI mark. He is the first Kingfish this season in double digits. Last season with Kenosha, Madej had five home runs over 64 games.<\/p>\n

The other two Kingfish runs come on sacrifice flies by Carson McCusker (Oklahoma State) and Weiller. They came in the fifth and seventh innings, respectively.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, the Kingfish return home for the first time since last Thursday. Saturday marks the start of a seven day stretch were Kenosha has a home game everyday. The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders will be the first visitors as this will be the first time the teams have met this season. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. and can be watched on Northwoods League TV and listened to on the Kenosha Kingfish Radio Network.<\/p>\n
