Kenosha, Wis. \u2013 The Kingfish (16-21) continued their win streak against the Madison Mallards (28-11), defeating them 4-2. The game was tied at two going into the eighth inning, but clutch hitting and pitching brought the Kingfish to victory.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the Fish, Kevin Napoleon (Butler) got his first start of the year and it was a great one. Napoleon went five strong innings, allowing no runs on four hits, one walk and four strikeouts. Due to the game being tied in the late innings, he did not receive the win. <\/span><\/p>\n

Napoleon was followed by three more pitchers, starting with Brady Kais (McHenry CC). Kais went 1.1 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out one. The next pitcher earned the win Friday night, Keanu Mendez (Concordia St. Paul). He went 1.2 innings on the night, allowing no runs on two hits, striking out two, on his way to receiving his third win of the season. <\/span><\/p>\n

Josh Serio (UW-Milwaukee) closed the door on the Mallards, earning his sixth save of the season. His final line was one inning pitched, two hits, no runs and two strikeouts. <\/span><\/p>\n

Four Mallards pitchers came to the mound Friday night, beginning with Dustin Saenz (Texas A&M). He went 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out five. He was followed by Connor Churchill (Florida), who went 0.2 innings and allowed one hit and two walks. <\/span><\/p>\n

Jonah Smith (Creighton) relieved Churchill and received the loss for the game. When Smith came out, he left a runner on base that ended up coming around to score when Carson Ragsdale (South Florida) allowed his run and one charged to himself. Smith went one inning allowing one run and one hit, while Ragsdale went 0.2 innings allowing one run and two hits. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the Kingfish, Ben Troike (Illinois), Jack Weiller (Virginia) and Mike Madej (Northwest Florida State) led the way at the plate. Troike went 3-4 and scored twice. Weiller also went 3-4, including an RBI in the sixth when he knocked in Troike on a single. Madej had two RBI\u2019s which both came on a single in the bottom of the eighth inning to break the tie. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Fish are hot, having won their past four games, including two over the Dock Spiders and now the first of the series against the Mallards. Madison is still in Kenosha tomorrow, Saturday, with Denson Hull the probable pitcher for the Kingfish. The Fish look to stay on fire when first pitch comes around at 6:05.<\/span><\/p>\n
