Kenosha, Wis. \u2013 The Kingfish (22-23) win a low-scoring thriller against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (20-26) by a score of 3-2. Will Wagner (Liberty University) keeps the Fish hot with a walk-off double in the ninth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trent Palmer (Jacksonville) got his third start of the summer, getting a no-decision for his efforts but pitched very well. He didn\u2019t allow a hit until the fifth inning where he also allowed his only run of the night. His night ended after going six innings, allowing that lone run on two hits and striking out eight.<\/span><\/p>\n

In relief of Palmer was Max Rimac (Parkland CC) who had the shortest appearance of the night, going 0.1 of an inning, allowing one hit and only throwing four pitches. Next was Matt Hamilton (Madison College) who went 0.2 of an inning, allowing one unearned run on one hit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The last one on the mound for the Fish was Jack Zimmerman (Kent State) who got second win of the year. In his performance, Zimmerman went 1.1 innings, not allowing a run or a hit and striking out one batter.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rafters put Tyler Giovinco (Army West Point) on the mound to begin the game, getting his third start of the year. He had a solid outing, going seven full innings, allowing only one run on four hits and striking out four. <\/span><\/p>\n

After Giovinco came Hunter Waldis (Seton Hall) and Mason McReaken (SIU-Edwardsville). Waldis went 0.2 innings allowing one run on two hits and striking out two. McReaken got his second loss of the year, going 0.2 innings and allowing the walk-off hit to Kingfish Will Wagner. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the offense, Scott Dubrule (Jacksonville) led the way with three hits including a double, a run and an RBI. Even though he didn\u2019t have a hit on the night, Jack Yalowitz (Illinois) made his presence felt by driving in the first run of the game for the Kingfish, and scoring the winning run in the ninth. <\/span><\/p>\n

The hero tonight was Will Wagner who played a solid third base and also came away with two hits. His first hit was a single in the second, followed by his walk-off double in the ninth. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Kingfish continue their series with the Rapids early tomorrow, with the starting pitch at 1:05. The projected starters tomorrow are Kaleb Schmidt (Drury University) for the Fish and Jake Cook (Birmingham Southern) for the Rafters.<\/span><\/p>\n
