Kenosha, Wis. \u2013 The Kingfish (26-29) took down the Battle Creek Bombers (25-30) in the last meeting of the season between the clubs. The game went to extras, but ended in the 10th thanks to Evan McDonald (Fairleigh Dickinson) launching his fifth homerun of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting for the Fish tonight was Nick Long (Florida) who put together his best start of the summer. He went six complete innings, allowing only one run on seven hits while striking out four. Coming on in relief in the seventh was Brent Villasenor (University of Chicago), going three strong innings. His line ended allowing one run on four hits, walking one and striking out two.<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting the win for the Kingfish tonight was Josh Serio (UW-Milwaukee). He kept the Bombers at bay in the top of the 10th not allowing a hit or a walk. This performance earned Serio his first win of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the Bombers, Michael McCraith (Wheaton College) started on the bump. He had a solid night going six innings, allowing two runs, one earned, and striking out five. <\/span><\/p>\n

The next two pitchers were Dillon Sievert (Spalding University) and Kevin Hahn (Cal State Stanislaus). Sievert pitched the 7th and 8th, allowing no runs on two hits and striking out three. Hahn got his third loss tonight, allowing the walk off homerun in the bottom of the 10th. His line ended pitching 1.2 innings, and allowing two runs on four hits.<\/span><\/p>\n

First in relief of Voss was Kevin Hahn (Cal State Stanislaus) who went one inning, allowing one run on three hits. Closing out the night for Battle Creek with a great performance that earned him the save was Brett Manis (Ohio University). In his three complete innings, he gave up on runs on two hits and struck out two.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kenosha had some star offensive performers, including Scott Dubrule (Jacksonville) who went 2-5, and Ben Troike (Illinois) who went 2-4 and hit his sixth double of the summer. The clutch performer tonight was Evan McDonald who ended the night 1-5, but that one hit ended the game in the 10th. A massive two-run homerun McDonald brought the Kingfish their 26th victory on the season. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Kingfish continue their homestand tomorrow, July 28th, when Fond Du Lac comes into town. Denson Hull (Creighton) is the probable starter on Saturday, first pitch set for 6:05.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
