Kenosha, Wis. \u2013 The Kingfish (34-30) end their season series against the Wisconsin Woodchucks (25-39) with a walk-off thriller. In the bottom of the ninth, Jack Yalowitz scored on wild pitch to lift Kenosha to a 6-5 victory. <\/span><\/p>\n

The starter tonight for the Fish was Kaleb Schmidt (Drury University) who put on a great performance in his 12th start of the summer. He finished the night going six complete innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits while striking out four.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next two pitchers for Kenosha, Matt Hamilton (Madison College) and Alex McIntosh (UW-Milwaukee), both pitched a third of an inning each. Hamilton let up one run on one hit, while McIntosh allowed one run also. Josh Serio (UW-Milwaukee) was the last Kingfish arm on the mound and got his second win of the season after going the final 2.1 innings allowing three runs, one earned, on three hits.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the Woodchucks, Alex Stodola (UW-Stevens Point) got his third start of the summer. He only went one inning, allowing four runs on two hits while walking three. In relief first was Ricardo Garcia (Webber International) who pitched very well going 5.1 innings, allowing one run on two hits.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mason Cole (Texas A&M) was next up, throwing 1.2 innings while allowing no runs on no hits and striking out three. The last pitcher for the Chucks was Lennon Gwizdala (Northwood University) who received his second loss of the summer. He pitched the final 0.2 innings and allowed the walk-off wild pitch that scored Jack Yalowitz in the bottom of the ninth. <\/span><\/p>\n

Only four hits came for the Kingfish, but their offense and baserunning was timely when they needed it. Scott Dubrule (Jacksonville) went 1-4 on the night but scored two of the Fish\u2019s six runs. Jack Yalowitz (Illinois) went hitless but reached base twice via walk, including in the ninth when he eventually came around to be the winning run. Also, reaching base three times was Will Wagner (Liberty University), walking twice with one hit and scoring once.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Kingfish have won six straight, making that their ninth win in their last ten games. Their second half record improves to 21-9, bringing them to four games above the Mallards for first place. The Fish now travel to take on Madison on Saturday, August 4th, before returning to Kenosha to end their season series with the Mallards.
