MADISON, Wis. \u2013 The Kenosha Kingfish (34-31) held close with the Madison Mallards (45-20) all of Saturday\u2019s game and even into extras, but the Mallards walked off the Kingfish to win 8-7.<\/p>\n

Connor Doyle (San Diego) got the Kingfish on the board early with a home run on the very first pitch of the ballgame. It was the second home run for Doyle on the season, the second time Kenosha has hit a\u00a0first pitch\u00a0home run against the Mallards this season.<\/p>\n

Later in the inning, Marty Bechina (Michigan State) brought home Scott Dubrule (Jacksonville) with a sacrifice fly.<\/p>\n

The game was started by Denson Hull (Creighton) who had to leave in the third inning after 35 pitches in the second. Hull finished the game with four runs allowed, although all of them were unearned. He also had one strikeout and four walks.<\/p>\n

Kenosha scored five runs in the fifth inning to retake the lead over Madison. The Kingfish sent ten batters to the plate that inning and had Bechina, Jack Yalowitz (Illinois), and Evan McDonald (Fairleigh Dickinson) bring runners home with walks.<\/p>\n

The Kingfish\u00a0were\u00a0shut out the rest of the game but got good relief appearances from Cale Cuddie (UW-Stevens Point), Brady Kais (McHenry CC), and Alex McIntosh (UW-Milwaukee). Kais went three innings and only gave up one hit with three strikeouts.<\/p>\n

The Kingfish come back home Sunday evening for the season series finale against the Madison Mallards. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. and the game can be followed online on Northwoods League TV and on Ustream on the Kenosha Kingfish Radio Network.<\/p>\n
