Kenosha, Wis. \u2013 The Kingfish (40-31) won their sixth straight beating the Rockford Rivets (28-42), 8-5. Kenosha has already clinched first place in the South Division for the second half, and are looking to move up in the overall standings, now tied for third with Kalamazoo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cale Cuddie (UW-Stevens Point) got the ball to start the game for the Kingfish, getting his tenth start on the summer. His line finished going four innings, allowing on runs on three hits, walking five and striking out four. First in relief was Kevin Napoleon (Butler), who got his fourth win of the summer in his 18th appearance. He went two innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits while striking out two.<\/span><\/p>\n

The third pitcher of the night for Kenosha was Matt Hamilton (Madison College), who went 1.2 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, while walking two and striking out two. Closing out the night for Kenosha was Brady Kais (McHenry College) who earned his second save in his 23rd game of the season. He went the last 1.1 innings, not allowing a hit or run, and striking out one Rivet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two pitchers came to the mound for Rockford, starting with Alex Bacevicius (Robert Morris) who dropped to 0-4 on the season. His night ended after six innings, giving up seven runs on five hits and walking four. The second and last pitcher was Hunter Keim (Quincy), who went the final two innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out two.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eight more runs were put up by the Kingfish Saturday night, their bats staying hot. Leading the offense was Mike Madej (NW Florida State) who went 3-4 on the night, knocking in three runs off his third homerun of the season in the second. He added a double, a single and two runs to his performance. Carson McCusker (Oklahoma State) also supplied power, hitting a two-run homerun in the fourth inning, his third round-tripper of the summer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Only one more regular season game is left for your Kingfish in the 2018. They travel to take on the Rivets on Sunday, August 12th, before returning to Historic Simmons Field to begin the Northwoods Playoffs. In their first postseason appearance since 2015, the Fish look to keep up their hot play. Brent Villasenor (University of Chicago) looks to get the ball on Monday, August 13th, first pitch set for 7:05.<\/span><\/p>\n
