Pitcher David Luethje and outfielder Jacob Young will be joining the Kingfish for the upcoming 2019 season.<\/p>\n<p>Luethje is a 6\u20195\u201d 190-pound freshman, right-handed pitcher from Vero Beach, Florida. As a high school senior, he posted a 6-1 record with a 0.54 ERA in 55 innings while racking up 95 strikeouts. He helped lead Vero Beach to a 26-3 record and was drafted in the 40th Round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.<\/p>\n<p>Coming to you from Ponte Verdra, Florida is 6\u20190\u201d 165-pound freshman, outfielder, Jacob Young. He was a FACA 6A All-State Selection. In 25 games as a high school senior, he hit .288 with 19 runs scored and five doubles while also swiping 18 stolen bases. Young can also step in and play the infield.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFlorida is consistently one of the best programs in college baseball. They are contending for a College World Series almost every season,\u201d said Kingfish Manager Duffy Dyer. \u201cAny time you can add players from one of the top programs in the nation, you\u2019re setting yourself up for a successful season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Opening Day for the Kingfish is Tuesday, May 28<sup>th<\/sup> against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
