KALAMAZOO, Mich. \u2013 The Kenosha Kingfish (8-14) outscored the Kalamazoo Growlers (10-12) 12-7 in a slugfest on Tuesday night at Homer Stryker Field.<\/p>\n
RHP Matthew Plisko (Macalester College) started for the Kingfish and threw 1.2 innings. He was removed from the game in the second inning after allowing three hits and three walks.<\/p>\n
RHP Tanner Fallon (Loras College) got the win with 3.1 innings out of the bullpen giving up two runs and four hits on three strikeouts.<\/p>\n
The Growlers started off the scoring with a two-run bottom of the first inning, but Kenosha\u2019s bats would not stay silent for long.<\/p>\n
The Kingfish took the lead 3-2 in the top of the second inning on three hits and two walks. RF Zach Nogalski (UW \u2013 Milwaukee) and SS Ethan Owens (Drury) both knocked in runs while Kenosha scored another run on a passed ball.<\/p>\n
Kalamazoo responded with a run in the bottom of the second inning to tie the game at three.<\/p>\n
Kenosha retook the lead in the top of the third on an RBI single by Nogalski going 2-2 with 2 RBIs in his first two at-bats.<\/p>\n
The Kingfish continued to pour-on runs in the fourth inning with four runs on three hits.<\/p>\n
Owens started out the fourth frame with a double and scored on a ground out by CF Mike Jarvis (San Diego State).<\/p>\n
Two of Kenosha\u2019s runs in the fourth came in on a ball put in play by DH Roberto Pe\u00f1a (Florida) after an error at third base.<\/p>\n
The Kingfish led 8-3 into the middle of the inning.<\/p>\n
CF Mike Jarvis (San Diego State) and 3B Nate Thomas (St. Joseph\u2019s) hit back-to-back doubles to start the sixth inning, and the Kingfish scored two more runs in the sixth to lead 10-5.<\/p>\n
In the top of the ninth the Kingfish scored two more runs after Owens doubled for the second time of the night to lead off the inning.<\/p>\n
Thomas drove in the eleventh Kingfish run on a bases loaded walk while LF Charles Middleton (Sierra College) drove in the final run of the night for Kenosha on a sacrifice fly.<\/p>\n
