{"id":8010,"date":"2019-07-03T23:43:49","date_gmt":"2019-07-04T04:43:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/kenosha-kingfish\/?p=8010"},"modified":"2019-07-03T23:43:49","modified_gmt":"2019-07-04T04:43:49","slug":"kingfish-walk-off-rivets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/kenosha-kingfish\/2019\/07\/03\/kingfish-walk-off-rivets\/","title":{"rendered":"Kingfish Walk-Off Rivets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KENOSHA, Wis. \u2013 The Kenosha Kingfish (1-0) started the second half with a 5-4 walk-off win over the Rockford Rivets (0-1) on Wednesday night at Historic Simmons Field.<\/p>\n<p>Kenosha struck first in the opening frame with a Roberto Pena (Florida) sacrifice fly to the left field warning track. Charles Middleton (Pacific) knocked in two more with a looping line drive to right field to put the Kingfish up 3-0.<\/p>\n<p>Brendan Hueth (Saint Joseph\u2019s) continued a recent hot streak with an RBI double in the second inning to put Kenosha ahead 4-0. Hueth is 10-for-25 in his last six games, including a 2-for-5 game on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Higgins (Bellarmine) put Rockford on the board in the third inning with a double that drove in Mason Minzey (Texas Tech) and Jonny Butler (North Carolina State). Then Easton Murrel (Texas Tech) singled to bring home Higgins and bring the Rivets within one at 4-3.<\/p>\n<p>Fog rolled onto the field off of Lake Michigan after the third inning and delayed the game for over an hour.<\/p>\n<p>Troy Hickey (Madison College) came on in relief of Ben Stephens (Eastern Illinois) after the delay and dealt 2 2\/3 scoreless innings on two hits to go along with four strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p>Blake Burrows (Kansas State) evened the game up at four with a two-out RBI single. The run was the first of the earned variety off of Kingfish pitcher Colton Gordon (Central Florida) this season in 15 innings.<\/p>\n<p>Hueth gave Kenosha its second walk-off win of the season with a single on a ball that split the right-center field gap to score RJ Pearson (Oral Roberts) and give Kenosha a 5-4 win.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon was the pitcher of record for Kenosha after giving up one run in 3 1\/3 innings and struck out seven.
