Kenosha, WI \u2013 The Kenosha Kingfish are proud to be a part of the community here in Kenosha. There are plenty of great organizations that contribute to admirable causes, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace is one which stands out. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a non-profit group that builds and delivers single beds, complete with mattresses, bedding, and a pillow to kids between 3 and 17 years old who do not have a proper bed to sleep in.\u00a0 Since the founding of the Racine\/Kenosha Chapter in 2018, 727 beds have been delivered to kids in the area.<\/p>\n

If you, or anyone you, know are interested in learning more about this organization, then be sure to come out to the Kingfish game this Saturday as members of Sleep in Heavenly Peace will be in attendance. The Kenosha Kingfish are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the proven leader in the development of elite college baseball players. Having completed its 27th<\/sup>\u00a0season, the Northwoods League is the largest independently organized baseball league in the world with 22 teams, and draws significantly more fans in a friendly ballpark experience than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires, and front office staff, over 250 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including three-time All-Star and 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner Curtis Granderson, three-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series Champion Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champions Ben Zobrist and Brandon Crawford (SFG) and World Series Champion Chris Sale (BOS). As well as 2019 Rookie of the Year and Home Run Derby Champion Pete Alonso (NYM) and MLB Gold Glove finalist and 2019 Second Team All-MLB shortstop Marcus Semien (TOR).
