Kingfish Lose 2nd Half Home Opener<\/b><\/p>\n

The Kenosha Kingfish fell to the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 4-1 at Historic Simmons Field Friday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Kingfish have lost two of their last three games, and the Battle Jacks got their first win of the second half.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Battle Creek struck first in the top of the third frame on an Aaron Dolney single that plated Bobby Nichols.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brady Counsell helped Kenosha tie the ball game at 1-1 in the fourth\u00a0 on an infield single that plated Jay Beshears.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Battle Jacks jumped back ahead 2-1 when 2022 NWL All-Star Patrick Mills sent Dillon Kark jogging across home plate on a sacrifice fly to center field.<\/span><\/p>\n

Battle Creek extended their lead in the sixth frame with a pair of runs to make it 4-1. Dolney scored on an error off the bat of Robbie Merced, and Merced scored on a James Canar single.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Battle Jacks held off the Kingfish for the remainder of the game to win the first of this four game set.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aaron Dolney led the Battle Creek offense by going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jay Beshears kept his bat hot with a 2-for-3 with a run, a double and a walk on the day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Garrett Martin (1-1) got the win and was dealing all day long, as he pitched seven innings while giving up one run on six hits with five strikeouts as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Victor Loa (1-1) took the loss after giving up two earned runs on four hits while striking out eight in five frames.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Kingfish (1-2) and Battle Jacks (1-2) both sit in a tie for third place in the Great Lakes East division.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kenosha and Battle Creek will go at it again on Saturday with a 6:05 p.m. first pitch time.<\/span><\/p>\n
