Landen Lozier (Kansas) would draw a walk to start things off, then score the next at bat on a pair of defensive errors. From there, the Loggers rallied, batting through the order and knocking 4 hits that would score 5 in the inning.<\/p>\n<p>The Loggers would score another run in the 4th before another monsterous inning, batting through the order again, scoring 6 runs in the 5th behind 3 run homeruns from both Lozier and Nicholas Mazzotta (Wagner), putting the Loggers up 12-1. Shramek continued to pitch lights out for the Lumbermen, retiring batter after batter, not allowing another run throughout his complete game.\u00a0La Crosse would tack on another run in the 6th on a sacrafice fly, cementing the final score at 13-1.<\/p>\n<p>Game 2 saw Thunder Bay take the early lead again, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first on an RBI groundout and 2 out double. Unfourtinately, the bats for the Loggers could not stay hot from game 1. Lukas Buckner (Coastal Carolina) would hit an RBI single in the 3rd to plate the only runner for the Logs in the third. After that, both pitching staffs were shut down, not allowing another run, finalizing the score at 2-1 for the Thunder Bay victory.<\/p>\n<p>Impressive performances throughout the day include Tavian Shrameks complete game, throwing 7 innings, only allowing 1 run, and striking out 5 in the process. Nicholas Mazzotta and Landen Lozier each had themselves a homerun, and Eason Hurd matched thier RBI output of 3 with a bases clearing double himself. Kelsen Johnson (Georgia SW State) also broke a team record for walks in a single season with 52 tonight! Congratulations to Kelsen.<\/p>\n<p>The Loggers will travel to Rochester to take on the Honkers tomorrow night, before both teams travel back to La Crosse to play at 6:35 on Tuesday.
