\n\tLa Crosse, Wis. – <\/b><\/span><\/font>The La Crosse Loggers announced at a press conference held today at Copeland Park that they are teaming up with the La Crosse Police and Fire Departments to put on the first ever “Patriot Games: Guns ‘n Hoses” event on Sunday, July 13.  The charity event will pit the two departments against each other in a friendly softball game at 3:05 p.m. prior to the start of the Loggers regularly scheduled Northwoods League contest when they host the Kenosha King Fish at 5:05 p.m.<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/font>\n<\/div>\n
\n\tLa Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat joined police chief Ron Tischer and fire chief Greg Cleveland in sharing the excitement over this first-time event that will ultimately generate funds for a pair of worthy causes.  Fans can purchase tickets for both games for just $10 at the front counter of the City of La Crosse police department (400 La Crosse St.) or at Fire Station #1 (726 5<\/span><\/font>th<\/sup><\/font> Avenue South), First Station #2 (620 Monitor Street), Fire Station #3 (1710 Losey Blvd.) or Fire Station #4 (906 Gillette St.).  Supporters may also purchase tickets at the Loggers ticket office (1225 Caledonia St.).<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/font>\n<\/div>\n
\n\tFifty percent of all ticket sales for this one-of-kind event will go to benefit two different charities.  The police department will be playing on behalf of Justice for a Cure (<\/span><\/font>www.justiceforacure.com<\/span><\/font><\/a>) while the fire department will be representing the Muscular Dystrophy Association (<\/span><\/font>www.mda.org<\/span><\/font><\/a>). <\/span><\/font><\/span><\/font>\n<\/div>\n
\n\tThe inaugural “Patriot Games” will be presented by Western Technical College who will be adding a little extra excitement to the inaugural “Guns ‘n Hoses” softball contest as they will be providing an additional $300 to the charity of the winning team.<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/font>\n<\/div>\n
\n\tMembers of the La Crosse Area Sports Commission will also be on hand to help present this special July 13 event at Copeland Park which will include a tribute to the men and women of the La Crosse police and fire departments during a special pre-game ceremony prior to the start of the Loggers game.<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/font>\n<\/div>\n
