\n\tThe La Crosse Loggers split their doubleheader with the Alexandria Blue Anchors Tuesday evening from Knute Nelson Memorial Park in Alexandria, MN. La Crosse fell in the first game by a score of 3-1 but bounced back in game two by winning 8-7 in ten innings and in the process snapped a five game losing streak. Both games were seven innings long, and La Crosse was the home team in game one, since that game was a rescheduled game from a rained out game at Copeland Park in June. \n<\/p>\n
\n\tGame 1: Alexandria 3, La Crosse 1<\/u><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tAlexandria scored all three of their runs off Loggers starter Ty Provencher (Long Beach State), although only two of those runs were earned. The Loggers did get eight hits, but only one run off Blue Anchors starter Blake Bass (Angelo State). Ryne Birk (Texas A&M) led the Loggers with three hits, a newly added catcher Brandon Wessels (Buena Vista) also had two hits for the Lumbermen. \n<\/p>\n \n\tGame 2: La Crosse 8, Alexandria 7 (10 Innings)<\/u><\/b>\n<\/p>\n \n\tLoggers starter, Adam Cline (Columbia), was touched up for six runs (all earned) in three innings as the Loggers had to rally from a 7-3 deficit after four innings. Reliever Zack Walsh (Valparaiso) did an admirable job going four innings in relief and only giving up one run. Center fielder Mike Nadratowski (Grand Valley State) returned to the lineup after nursing an injury and belted a three-run home run in the top of the fifth to start the rally for La Crosse. In the sixth, Wessels scored on a Nash Knight (Dallas Baptist) single. In the tenth inning, Wessels singled home Ryan Kirby (San Diego) to give the Loggers the lead. Reliever Mark Ecker (Texas A&M) got the win after throwing two shut out innings. Closer Breckin Williams pitched a 1-2-3 tenth inning for his twelfth save.
