\n\tLa Crosse, Wis.- The third biggest attendance in Loggers’ history (5,489) watched the Loggers defeat the Lakeshore Chinooks 8-4. The highlight of the night, Mason McCoy with a four hit performance, tying the Loggers’ hits single season record.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLakeshore was ready to go from the start. The first pitch from Graham Spraker (Quincy) never made it to the catcher’s glove. Anthony Massicci (Cansius) sent the pitch over the left field wall for a leadoff home run.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tTwo singles and a walk loaded the bases with no out for the Loggers in the 2nd<\/sup>. Keith Skinner (North Florida) drove a base hit into center field to score Alex Merritt (North Florida) and Ronnie Gideon (Texas A&M). The Chinooks tied it up 3rd<\/sup> on a two out single by Zarley Zalewski (Kent State).\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRyan Kirby (San Diego) broke up the tie in the 4th<\/sup> when he bounced a base hit over the first baseman’s head to score Chris Baker (Washington). Mason McCoy collected his second hit of the day, scoring Jordan Pearce on the play. Another run scored on a walk to make the Logger lead 5-2.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAnthony Massicci walked to leadoff the following inning. Lucas Raley (Lake Erie) put Lakeshore right back in the game with a two-run shot in about the same location as the 1st<\/sup> inning home run.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMason McCoy singled to lead off the 6th<\/sup>. He came around to score his 49th<\/sup> run of the season on a single. A second run scored on a Ronnie Gideon groundout. Zander Clarke (Sub in for Pearce) and Keith Skinner kept the motor going the next inning with leadoff singles. Mason McCoy tied the Loggers’ single season hit record with 77 hits, the hit scored Clarke to make it 8 runs for La Crosse.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLakeshore was not quite done yet. Jordan Jess (Minnesota) gave up two one-out singles and a walk to load up the bases for the Chinooks, but two strikeouts got the Loggers out of the threat.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJordan Jess finished off the last three innings of the game to secure the victory. Jess struck out the last five batters of the game.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t With the win, La Crosse moves to 7-5 in the second half and 26-20 overall. La Crosse and Lakeshore square off for the final time in their five-game series tomorrow night. The Loggers have taken three of five on the season so far. Game time Is set for 5:05. Come early at 3 o’clock to watch the La Crosse Police and Firefighters play in a softball game at Copeland.\n<\/p>\n
