\n\tLa Crosse, Wisc.- It seems every time the Loggers face the Kingfish, it turns out to be a game full of intensity. Tonight was no different. Unfortunately, Kenosha finished on top, 9-6.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tMarty Bechina (Michigan State) took the 2nd<\/sup> pitch he saw over the outfield wall in left-center field, with a runner on bases, to take a 2-0 lead in the 1st<\/sup> inning.\n<\/p>\n \n\tLa Crosse responded in the bottom of the 1st<\/sup> by loading the bases with no outs on two singles and a walk in the 1st<\/sup> 3 batters. A strikeout brought up Logger right fielder Lorenzo Hampton Jr. (California). He hit a grounder to 2nd<\/sup> base, but an overthrow by Kingfish shortstop Micah Coffey (Minnesota) allowed Mason McCoy (Iowa) to score from 3rd<\/sup> and Garrett Zech (South Florida) from 2nd<\/sup>.\n<\/p>\n \n\tKenosha took the lead back in the next inning with a double over Garrett Zech’s (South Florida) head in center field, scoring Logan Starnes (Eastern Kentucky).\n<\/p>\n \n\tLa Crosse loaded the bases in the bottom of the 2nd<\/sup> with one out, but Kenosha starting pitcher Alex Hamilton (Eastern Kentucky) struck out two straight Loggers to escape the inning.\n<\/p>\n \n\tKevin Collard (San Diego) tied the game up with a home run to right field. The Loggers continued with singles in 4 of the next 5 at-bats. The last one by Gavin Johns (UCLA) scored Luis Trevino (Houston) and Garrett Zech, putting La Crosse on top for the 1st<\/sup> time in the game, 5-3.\n<\/p>\n \n\tGraham Spraker (Quincy) held the Kingfish scoreless for 2.1 innings after a offensive-friendly start of the game. The Kingfish quickly got to his replacement, Connor Wollersheim (Kent State). A single by Pat McInerney (Illinois) and sacrifice fly to center by Gunnar McNeil tied the game up. Kingfish field manager surprised the Logger defense with a perfected placed safety squeeze by Nick Kanavas (Madison College) scored the go-ahead run. \n<\/p>\n \n\tOnce again, La Crosse tied it up just a half inning later. Grant Fennell (Nevada) broke a cold streak with a deep double to left-center, scoring Justin Wylie (San Diego State). This would make the 3rd<\/sup> time that the game had been tied.\n<\/p>\n \n\tPat McInerney struck again in the top of the 9th<\/sup>. With runners on 1st<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup>, with no outs, he hit a sacrifice fly to center field to retake the lead 7-6. Two more Kingfish crossed home plate on two singles to extend their lead to 3 going into the bottom of the 9th<\/sup>.\n<\/p>\n \n\tLa Crosse threatened the lead in their last frame, but Griffin Conine struck out with two on to end the game. La Crosse falls to 12-8 on the season. After winning 8 straight, the Loggers have dropped 2 of their last 3. Kenosha moves to 8-12.
