\n\tLa Crosse, Wisc. – The Loggers grab a 6-1 win over the Duluth Huskies in the first game back at the Lumberyard in a week.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Loggers struck first in the 1st<\/sup> inning. Justin Wylie <\/strong>(San Diego State) walked with an out in the inning. He moved to 3rd<\/sup> on a single by Cullen Large <\/strong>(William & Mary). Wylie scored on a sacrifice fly to right field by Grant Fennell <\/strong>(Nevada).\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLuke Farley <\/strong>(Iowa), who was recently resigned after being a temporary contract player earlier this season, started his first game tonight since resigning with the Loggers. He walked with an out in the 4th<\/sup> inning. A wild pitch moved him to 2nd<\/sup> base. Nick Schranck <\/strong>(Illinois Central) brought him in to score on a hit-and-run single to left field.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDuluth responded with their first run of the game in the 5th<\/sup>. A leadoff walk by Casey Moses <\/strong>(Texas Wesleyan) scored on a single up the middle by Huskie right fielder Jake Pries <\/strong>(UCLA).\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWith two on and one out in the bottom of the 5th<\/sup>, Cesar Salazar <\/strong>(Arizona) hit a bloop single to shallow center. Two batters later, Gavin Johns <\/strong>(UCLA) hit an infield single that scored Grant Fennell <\/strong>from 3rd<\/sup> base, make the Loggers’ lead 4-1.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLa Crosse put together 2 more runs on 3 hits and a Duluth error, but they had quite enough runs to take the game 6-1. Jared Liebelt <\/strong>(Waubonese CC) finished the final 3.2 innings without giving up a run and only 2 hits.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tNick Raquet <\/strong>(William & Mary) won the game for La Crosse (3-4) on his 5.1 inning start. He only gave up a run on 4 hits. He walked 3 batters and struck out 6 more.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tHenry DeCaster <\/strong>(South Dakota State) took the loss for Duluth (0-4). He pitched 4.1 innings, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits. He walked 4 batters and struck out 2.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLa Crosse wins their 3rd<\/sup> straight game to move to 11-9 in the 2nd<\/sup> half and return to .500 overall (28-28). Duluth continue their free fall, losing their 6th<\/sup> consecutive game to fall to 6-15 in the 2nd<\/sup> half (24-33 overall). The Huskies stay in town for one more game, tomorrow night at 5:05. It’s College Football Night at the Lumberyard. Make sure to represent your favorite college well when the gates open at 4 PM. \n<\/p>\n
