<\/a>La Crosse, Wisc. – The Thunder Bay Border Cats snapped a 7-game win streak by the La Crosse Loggers in a 8-4 win in Copeland Park.\n<\/p>\n\n\tBoth starting pitchers quickly worked through each other’s lineup through 3 innings. Cullen Large <\/strong>(William & Mary) and Grant Fennell <\/strong>(Nevada) started the 4th<\/sup> inning with walks. They both scored on a Justin Wylie <\/strong>(San Diego State) bases loaded single to center field. Cesar Salazar <\/strong>(Arizona) was thrown out trying to make it to 3rd<\/sup> base.\n<\/p>\n\n\tThunder Bay grabbed a run back in the next inning. Gui Gingras <\/strong>(St. John’s) led off the inning with a single to center field. He scored on a 2-out single by Andy Weber <\/strong>(Virginia).\n<\/p>\n\n\tJack Ralston <\/strong>(UCLA) pitched well for the Loggers. He took the no decision, pitching 5 innings, giving up a run on 6 hits. He walked 2 and stuck out 4 batters.\n<\/p>\n\n\tThe Border Cats returned in the 6th<\/sup> inning in a big way. Border Cat hitters churned out 4 consecutive singles, scoring one run and another on a bases loaded walk. In total, 7 runs scored on 7 hits, giving Thunder Bay a 8-2 lead. That broke a 57-inning streak of not trailing by La Crosse, dating back to the 3rd<\/sup> inning of Friday night’s game in Duluth.\n<\/p>\n\n\tLa Crosse answered back in their half of the 6th<\/sup>. They loaded the bases with two outs for Mason McCoy <\/strong>(Iowa). Lars Nootbaar <\/strong>(USC) scored from 3rd<\/sup> on a wild pitch. The Loggers threat ended their on a groundout to the third baseman by McCoy.\n<\/p>\n\n\tKyle Plantier <\/strong>(UC-Santa Barbara) brought in a run with a single in the 7th<\/sup>, but the Loggers could not recover, as they fell 8-4 to Thunder Bay\n<\/p>\n\n\tBrandon Langan <\/strong>(New Mexico) won his 2nd<\/sup> game of the season (2-7). He went 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits. He walked 4 batters with one strikeout.\n<\/p>\n\n\tCason Sherrod <\/strong>(Texas A&M) took the loss for the Loggers. He went two-thirds of an inning. He gave up 6 runs on 5 hits. He walked 1 and struck another out.\n<\/p>\n\n\tLa Crosse falls to 15-10 in the 2nd<\/sup> half (32-29 overall). Thunder Bay moves up to 10-16 in the 2nd<\/sup> half (16-44 overall). The Loggers head to Mankato for the first time this season.
