It was a big weekend for many players with plenty of highlights to share.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Pitchers<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tGrant Ford got his first start as a freshman this past weekend for Nevada striking out one in four innings pitched. Despite the loss, Ford looks to make an impact&nbsp;as a RHP in his first season with Nevada.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tMichael Plassmeyer from Missouri got the win from the mound, where he struck out one in his five innings pitched with an era 3.60. Plassmeyer&#039;s performance helped launch Missouri to a 27-9 win over Eastern Michigan.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tIn addition, Missouri&#039;s TJ Sikkema had an impressive&nbsp;showing as he made&nbsp;his first apperance on the mound. Sikkema struck out eight at the plate while compiling just a 1.69 era in his five innings pitched in the 6-5 win over Eastern Michigan.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tUC-Davis&#039;s Orlando Razo made his first debut back from an injury that occured in&nbsp;2015. Razo assisted in the 8-3 win over UNLV with his three strikeouts in six innings pitched.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tJohn Sheaks also made his Long Beach State debut as the junior right-hander tossed 5.1 innings of four-hit baseball, striking out two before becoming the tough-luck loser against visiting Oklahoma.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Position Players<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tOne of the biggest weekend performances came from Washington freshman, Nick Kahle. With success behind and at the plate, Kahle hit .500 with a 2B and HR resulting in 5 RBI to jolt the Huskies to a 8-1 win over Santa Clara.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tArizona&#039;s Mitchell Morimoto was on fire at the plate this past weekend. In addition to solid defensive play, Morimoto went 6 for 11 with 4 RBI including a 2B and HR to boost his team in a weekend sweep of Eastern Kentucky.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tIn Texas A&amp;M&#039;s sweep over Bowling Green, Jorge Guiterrez contributed 3 RBI as he went 4 for 5 this past weekend.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tWith the collegiate baseball season now in full swing, be sure to check back here for weekly updates on your incoming Loggers!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>College baseball is back!&nbsp;This past weekend was the start of the collegiate baseball season for&nbsp;incoming 2017 Loggers.
