The freshman outfielder reached base seven times during the series sweep and capped his weekend off with an opposite field home run in the finale, his second round-tripper of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Returning Loggers\u2019 infielder Bryce Blaum is hitting over .300 at the top of the Texas A&amp;M lineup as the Aggies are off to a 7-1 start this season. The junior has started every game for the Aggies and ripped his first home run of the season down the leftfield line on a 1-2 count in his first at bat in Sunday\u2019s series finale against Illinois-Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>The Loggers\u2019 San Diego duo of Jake Miller and Cody Jefferis continue to produce early in the season for the 5-3 Toreros. After tossing 7.0 scoreless innings in his first collegiate start against Long Beach State on Tuesday, right-hander Jake Miller threw 4.0 no-hit innings against Utah in Sunday\u2019s finale of the Tony Gwynn Legacy Tournament. Miller struggled with his command a bit walking five batters but struck out five and did not allow a run, extending his scoreless inning streak to 13.0 to begin his collegiate career.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman infielder Cody Jefferis has started every game for the Toreros and has produced with a .321 batting average and .447 on-base percentage in his first season with USD. The left-handed swinging shortstop drew six walks over the weekend in the heart of the Toreros\u2019 lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Incoming Loggers\u2019 infielder\/pitcher Jack Filby from UCLA made another spotless appearance out of the Bruins\u2019 bullpen on Saturday afternoon. The two-way freshman threw 2.0 scoreless innings, striking out two as the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> ranked Bruins won 2-out-of-3 against the 19<sup>th<\/sup> ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Filby has been dominant to start the season as he has not allowed a baserunner in his first three appearances.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>###<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The La Crosse Loggers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.
