LA CROSSE LOGGERS TO HOST 2020 MAJOR LEAGUE DREAMS SHOWCASE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Annual Northwoods League scouting event to be held at Copeland Park on Tuesday, August 4, 2020<\/em><\/p>\n

LA CROSSE, Wis. \u2014 The La Crosse Loggers are happy to announce that Copeland Park & Events Center will play host to the 2020 edition of the Major League Dreams Showcase, the annual event that brings together 100 of the Northwoods League\u2019s top prospects to form four teams for a day of scouting workouts and doubleheader action.<\/p>\n

After seven years at Warner Park in Madison, the event will shift west along I-90 to Copeland Park on Tuesday, August 4, but the structure and focus of the event will remain the same. Participating players are hand-selected by a panel of major league scouts, distinguishing this event from the more traditional All-Star Game format that features representatives from every team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled that the Northwoods League has granted us the right to host such a prestigious event,\u201d La Crosse Loggers team president Chris Goodell said. \u201cA day filled with some of the brightest prospects in our game being showcased at Copeland Park & Events Center is a dream\u00a0come true for our fans and the City of La Crosse.\u201d<\/p>\n

The day will start with structured player workouts, followed by a pair of nine-inning games with the first game matching the selected players from the Great Lakes Division at 4:00 p.m., followed by the nightcap featuring players from the Great Plains Division at 7:05 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor fans who want a glimpse of the future ranks of professional baseball playing enthusiastically to an audience of professional scouts, the Major League Dream Showcase is a must-see event\u201d said Northwoods League President and Commissioner Gary Hoover.\u00a0 \u201cIn each of the last three years, more than one in five of the Showcase players went on to be drafted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the Major League Dreams Showcase will benefit the Northwoods League Foundation.\u00a0 The Northwoods League Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves as a vehicle to transform a shared passion for baseball into positive change and support for communities. Of the many needs the foundation may address through grants, scholarships or donations, one ongoing focus will be to view its member communities and look upon the baseball programs they have in place with a harmonious goal of making them all finer places to live.
