The 2026 season will be Mikel Moreno’s second season with the Lakeshore Chinooks, bringing extensive experience and a strong track record of success at multiple levels of baseball.<\/p>\n

A former standout outfielder at Arizona State University, Moreno played a key role in leading the Sun Devils to the College World Series final in 1998 before spending several seasons in the Chicago Cubs minor league system. He transitioned into coaching, serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Central Arizona College and the University of New Orleans, as well as head of player development at Arizona State.<\/p>\n

Since 2015, Moreno has been the varsity baseball coach at Queen Creek High School in Arizona, where he led the Bulldogs to a state championship in 2024 in Arizona\u2019s top high school division. His ability to develop young talent and build competitive teams aligns with the Chinooks\u2019 commitment to player development and success on the field.<\/p>\n

As the fifth manager in franchise history, Moreno will oversee the development of a roster featuring talent from top collegiate programs across the country. His leadership and extensive network within the baseball community will play a key role in shaping the future of the Chinooks organization.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
