Grafton, WI – The following statements were released by both the Lakeshore Chinooks Baseball Club and the Northwoods League as of May 7, 2020. Our office will continue to provide information and updates as we receive them from the Northwoods League.<\/p>\n
Statement from the Lakeshore Chinooks Baseball Club:<\/strong><\/p>\n While we are unsure of what lies ahead for our 2020 summer collegiate baseball season, the Lakeshore Chinooks remain optimistic and continue to prepare for a potential Northwoods League season. The health and safety of our fans, players, coaches, staff, interns, and host families remain our number one priority. Our organization remains committed to participating in the 2020 NWL season when we can ensure proper CDC guidelines are in place and adequate testing for COVID-19 is available for our team.<\/em><\/p>\n Statement from the Northwoods League:<\/strong><\/p>\n The Northwoods League continues to closely monitor the developments related to COVID-19 and the different ways in which each sub-region in the Northwoods League is responding.\u00a0 Fan, player, and personnel safety remains our primary focus.\u00a0 Because the situation changes almost daily, and differently in each area where the League operates, our approach is to remain creative, nimble, and adaptable to how each situation unfolds throughout the entire League footprint so that where and when baseball can safely be played, it will be played.<\/em><\/p>\n However, as of today, because of the regime of governmental restrictions currently in effect and their resulting impact on the League\u2019s ability to maintain a workable schedule, the May 26th opening date for Northwoods League teams has been postponed indefinitely league-wide.\u00a0 The League will continue to monitor the specific situation in each of the communities where it operates to see where play might safely commence, consider the league-wide impacts of each location\u2019s status, and will adjust various contingency plans accordingly.\u00a0 Following this process, the League will continue to make frequent assessments, taking into consideration any local and state-wide updates, and will immediately communicate any further changes to the status of the League schedule.<\/em><\/p>\n In the meantime, we want to sincerely thank our fans, players, and all of the personnel who make the Northwoods League such an important part of the communities where we play.\u00a0 We look forward to safely coming together as soon as possible.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Grafton, WI – The following statements were released by both the Lakeshore Chinooks Baseball Club and the Northwoods League as […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":18,"featured_media":10727,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[30],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-10726","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-team-news"],"yoast_head":"\n
