Schweitzer&#8217;s name was called in the fifth round, No. 161 overall by the Chicago White Sox.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Last season, Schweitzer appeared in 15 games with a 2-4 record and a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">4.25 ERA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Schweitzer, a Fishers, Indiana native finished his career at Ball State University <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">with a 14-2 record in 135 1\/3 innings on the mound recording 176 strikeouts. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He produced a career ERA of 3.39. He held opponents to a .214 batting average across his three-year career at BSU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This past season Schweitzer was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Midwest All-Region First Team, was a Collegiate Baseball Second Team All-American, named the MAC Pitcher of the Year, and earned a spot on the All-MAC First Team. Schweitzer earned MAC pitcher of the week three times throughout the season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Birdsong, a member of the 2022 Chinook roster has also found a new home at the next level. The right-hand pitcher was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the sixth round, No. 196 overall.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Birdsong in his summer with the Chinooks has been a menace on the rubber. Birdsong appeared in six games this summer with a 2-1 record and a 4.15 ERA. In his six games he struck out a total of 31 batters in 17 innings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Mattoon, Illinois native who just finished his first season at Eastern Illinois after transferring from Lake Land College, was awarded <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All-Ohio Valley Conference selection this past season as a relief pitcher. Birdsong made 20 appearances this past season at EIU with a 5-4 record, one save, a 3.35 ERA and 66 strike outs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Doersching was the final Chinook to be drafted in the eighth round, No. 240 overall by the San Diego Padres. Doersching was an infielder on the Chinooks roster in 2019 and 202.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Doersching made a profound impact in his two seasons as a Chinook. He holds the franchise record for home runs and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">won the 2021 Northwoods League home run challenge with 13 home runs. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Doersching spent his first four collegiate seasons at Northern Kentucky where he hit 47 home runs and recorded 153 RBIs before transferring to Oklahoma State University.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In his lone year at OSU, Doersching was named to the All-Big 12 First team with a batting average of .296. The Greendale, Wisconsin native had 15 home runs, 13 doubles and was ranked second on the team with 58 RBI\u2019s in just 42
