\n\tThe Lakeshore Chinooks have announced that Mark Moriarty will return for his second year as the team’s pitching coach. Moriarty returns to manager Eddy Morgan’s staff after working together with Morgan to rebuild the Concordia University Wisconsin baseball program this past year.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tPrior to joining the Chinooks and CUW, the St. Scholastica grad had coaching stints at Concordia St. Paul (2012) and Augustana (2008-2011) where Moriarty’s pitchers helped lead the Vikings to their first-ever NCAA tournament . As a college pitcher, Moriarty finished with the third most wins in school history (23) and a 2.80 ERA and was a 2006 All-American.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tAs a collegiate player, Moriarty pitched for the Madison Mallards in 2004 and posted a 4-0 record with an amazing 0.00 ERA. Moriarty’s NWL experience proved invaluable to the Chinooks’ pitching staff as the team won the South Division 2nd half season title and advanced to the team’s first-ever playoff appearance. Working with NWL All-Star’s Tyler Thicke and Kyle Bouman, Moriarty’s staff posted a 3.27 ERA and 508 strikeouts while allowing only 239 runs.\n<\/p>\n
