He gave up one run on four hits. Letkewicz struck out four batters as well.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the second, <strong>Kyle Wood <\/strong>(Purdue) advanced to first with a single. He then scored on a <strong>Zack Bowers <\/strong>(UGA) 2-run homer in the same inning.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tChinooks relievers <strong>Connor Jones<\/strong> (UGA), <strong>Jake Tuttle <\/strong>(UW-Milwaukee) and <strong>Bryce Beeler<\/strong> (Memphis) pitched four and one-third shutout innings.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWood had another single in the sixth that scored Bowers and left fielder <strong>Aaron Huesman <\/strong>&nbsp;(Dayton).&nbsp; <strong>Ryan Krill <\/strong>&nbsp;(Michigan State) had a solo homer in the seventh off Growlers lefty Devon Bronson.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe losing pitcher was Kalamazoo starting pitcher Nick Wernke (0-1). He gave up two runs off of four hits. He struck out three and issued four walks in three innings.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">The Chinooks return home for a four-game home stand tomorrow at Kapco Park. They take on the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Wednesday and Thursday. The team will play the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters on Friday and Saturday.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>The Lakeshore Chinooks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (DET) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
