The team defeated the Green Bay Bullfrogs by the final score of 8-3.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSecond baseman <strong>Jake Noll <\/strong>(Florida Gulf Coast) led Lakeshore and went 4-5 in the contest. He had a double, three singles and four RBI.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Chinooks struck first in the third. Left fielder <strong>Ryan Larson <\/strong>(Florida) drew a walk by Bullfrogs starter Garrett Harrison. With two outs, Noll hit a double that scored Larson.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the fourth, Lakeshore put two more runs on the board. <strong>Brett Siddall <\/strong>(Canisius) hit a leadoff double. He scored on another double by catcher <strong>Zack Bowers <\/strong>(Georgia). <strong>Mitch Ghelfi <\/strong>(UW-Milwaukee) also hit a double in the inning and Bowers scored.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tGreen Bay tied the game in the sixth. <strong>Cam Vieaux<\/strong> (Michigan State) gave up a double to Matt Beaty to start the inning. Left fielder Paul Jacobson drew a walk. Both Beaty and Jacobson scored on a three-run homer by Johnny Bekakis.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe southpaw Vieaux made his fifth and final start for the Chinooks. In six innings, he gave up three runs off six hits. He struck out two in a no-decision.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Chinooks took a 5-3 lead in the seventh. Matt Sabel relieved Josh Glick and issued a leadoff walk to Ghelfi. With no outs, Cody Pollack quickly replaced Sabel.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRyan Larson was then hit by Pollack. Ghelfi and Larson both advanced on a <strong>Blake Butler <\/strong>(College of Charleston) putout. Noll had an RBI single and Ghelfi scored. Valach drove in Larson with a base hit as well.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLakeshore scored three more times in the eighth. Zack Bowers reached on a single off left-hander Jake Stolley. <strong>Luke Meeteer<\/strong> (UW-Milwaukee) advanced on an error by Stolley. The catcher Ghelfi had a basehit, and Ryan Larson went to first on a fielder&rsquo;s choice. Meeteer scored on a single by the shortstop Butler.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBoth Ghelfi and Larson scored on Jake Noll&rsquo;s fourth hit of the game. The Chinooks had an 8-3 advantage over the Bullfrogs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWichita State right-hander <strong>Garrett Brummett <\/strong>(1-0) picked up the win in two scoreless innings. He gave up three hits and had two strikeouts.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Chase Radan <\/strong>(UCLA) pitched a shutout ninth frame. He gave up two hits and walked one.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe lefty Sabel (1-2) took the loss for Green Bay.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Chinooks will face the Bullfrogs again on Monday, July 7. The Battle Creek Bombers and La Crosse Loggers will also travel to Lakeshore this week. Every remaining game during&nbsp;the&nbsp;home stand will begin at 6:35 p.m., with the exception of the game on Friday, July 11. It will start at 7:05 p.m.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>The Lakeshore Chinooks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (DET) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
