Lakeshore swept Green Bay and won 5-4 on Monday.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMemphis Tiger <strong>Carter White <\/strong>went 2-2 in the game with a homer, double and drew a walk. <strong>Zack Bowers <\/strong>(Georgia) went 2-4 in the game with two singles, an RBI and scored a run.<span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 1.6em\">&nbsp; &nbsp; <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 1.6em\">&ldquo;I was ahead in the count, 2-0, and got a great read on those two pitches,&rdquo; White said. &ldquo;I go out every day and do my best to contribute and tonight it paid off with the home run.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Bullfrogs got on the board in the second. Left fielder Ryan Howell had a base hit off <strong>Will Headean <\/strong>(Illinois State).&nbsp; He scored on a Dean Long single.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWhite responded with a&nbsp;solo homer in the bottom of the inning.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Chinooks took a 3-1 lead in the third. Center fielder <strong>Luke Meeteer <\/strong>(UW-Milwaukee) led off with a double to right-center field. He scored on a triple by <strong>Jake Noll <\/strong>(Florida Gulf Coast). Bowers (Georgia) also had an RBI single in the inning.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the seventh, <strong>Hunter Devall <\/strong>(LSU) gave up a two-run homer to Ryan Koziol. The game was tied at three runs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBowers led off the eighth with a single. Green Bay reliever Sam Brunner intentionally walked pinch-hitter <strong>Brett Siddall <\/strong>(Canisius). Bowers scored a walk issued to right fielder <strong>Matt Honchel <\/strong>(Miami-OH). Siddall also came across on a base on balls to <strong>Sawyer Polen <\/strong>(Kent State). Lakeshore led 5-3.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tChinooks closer <strong>Andrew Elliott <\/strong>(Wright State) pitched one and one-third innings. The righty got his first win of the season. In the ninth, Ivan Vieitez had a pinch-hit single off Elliott. He scored on a groundout by Johnny Bekakis, which made it 5-4 Chinooks.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHeadean tossed five solid innings in a no-decision. He surrendered one run off four hits and struck out four.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe right-hander Brunner (0-1) took the loss. In 14 previous appearances, he had not given up an earned run. He gave up two runs off one hit and four walks.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Chinooks will play the Battle Creek Bombers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both games will begin at 6:35 p.m. They will also face the La Crosse Loggers on Thursday (6:35 p.m.)&nbsp;and Friday (7:05 p.m.).&nbsp;The team will travel to Green Bay on Saturday and Sunday to take on the Bullfrogs at Joannes Stadium.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>The Lakeshore Chinooks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (DET) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
