\n\tOn Wednesday, Lakeshore could not overcome the seven-run fifth by Wisconsin Rapids. The team split the series and lost 8-2.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rafters got things going in the third. With two outs, designated-hitter Michael Jurgella got a base hit off Garrett Brummett <\/strong>(Wichita State). He scored on a Clark Eagan double.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the fifth, Wisconsin Rapids scored seven runs. Eagan led off with his second double on the day. Third baseman Keelin Rasch followed with a single.  Eagan came home on a throwing error by shortstop Blake Butler <\/strong>(College of Charleston).\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBrummett issued a walk to catcher Tyler Servais and then hit Shawn Hagarty. Center Kirby McGuire hit a three-run double. The Rafters led 6-0.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe right-handed Brummett was replaced by Kyle Wood <\/strong>(Purdue). Shortstop Zack Domingues advanced to first on Butler’s second error and McGuire scored. Domingues also scored on a wild pitch by Wood.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tSecond baseman Jake Noll <\/strong>(Florida Gulf Coast) began the sixth with a double. With two away, Zack Bowers <\/strong>(Georgia) hit a two-run homer off Rapids starter Jake Cage.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWood pitched two and two-thirds in relief of Brummett. He gave up one unearned run off one hit. The southpaw also had four strikeouts.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRyan Radue <\/strong>(Connecticut) tossed two solid innings and struck out two.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe righty Cage (2-0) picked up his second win of the season. In six innings, he gave up two runs off four hits. Cage struck out three and walked two.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBrummett (2-1) took his first loss. In four and one-third innings, he gave up seven runs (six earned) off 10 hits.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLakeshore will play the Green Bay Bullfrogs on Thursday (6:35 p.m.) and Friday (7:05 p.m.). The team travels to La Crosse to play Saturday and Sunday, before the three-day Northwoods League All-Star Break.\n<\/p>\n
