The team swept and defeated the Rafters, 12-1.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFlorida Gator <strong>Shaun Anderson <\/strong>(4-1) tossed seven and one-third strong innings. He gave up one run off four hits. The right-hander&nbsp;struck out six and retired 16 straight batters at one point.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRight fielder <strong>Brett Siddall <\/strong>(Canisius) had another impressive night at the plate for Lakeshore. He went 3-4 with his seventh homer and scored two runs. Siddall also knocked in four runs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFor his performance, Siddall was named the Northwoods League Player of the Night on July 27. It was the third time he received the honors this season.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSecond-year Chinooks shortstop <strong>Sawyer Polen <\/strong>(Kent State) went 3-4 with a homer and scored three runs. He contributed three RBI as well.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWith two outs in the first, Rafters starter Carlos Rosales issued a walk to Siddall. Catcher <strong>Zack Bowers <\/strong>(Georgia) then hit a two-run homer to right center fielder. The Chinooks led 2-0.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tPolen had a solo homer to right field in the second, and the Chinooks had a 3-0 lead.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tCampbell Wear walked to lead off the bottom of the inning. Second baseman Ricky Ramirez doubled to left-center off Anderson and Wear scored. Wisconsin Rapids trailed 3-1.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSiddall also had a solo homer in the third, which increased the Chinooks lead to 4-1.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the fourth, Lakeshore put three more runs on the board and took a 7-1 lead. Left fielder <strong>Connor McKay <\/strong>(Kansas) led off with a single. He scored on a base hit by <strong>Sawyer Polen<\/strong>. Second baseman <strong>Blake Butler <\/strong>(College of Charleston) was walked. <strong>Brett Siddall <\/strong>also had a two-RBI single in the inning.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Chinooks struck again and scored four in the eighth. McKay drew walk by reliever Derek Kalewski. <strong>Ryan Larson <\/strong>singled and <strong>Sterling Koerner <\/strong>also walked.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAfter no outs, Jeff Gogue replaced Kalewski. The lefty gave up an RBI single to Polen. Larson came home on a sac field by <strong>Blake Butler<\/strong>. Koerner scored on a single by Siddall as well. Gogue walked in a run and Polen scored. Lakeshore led 11-1.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the ninth, <strong>Connor McKay<\/strong> hit his third homer in the past three days, and the Chinooks had a 12-1 lead.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSouthpaw <strong>Hunter Devall <\/strong>(LSU) relieved Anderson with one out in the eighth. He also pitched a scoreless ninth and recorded three strikeouts.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe righty Rosales (0-1) got his first loss of the season. In four innings, he surrendered seven runs (five earned) off seven hits. &nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLakeshore will also take on the MoonDogs in Mankato on Monday and Tuesday. Both of these games will be played at 7:05 p.m.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThey will play a split-location doubleheader with the Kenosha Kingfish on Wednesday, July 30. The first game will be at Simmons Field in Kenosha (12:05 p.m.). The second contest will take place at Kapco Park in Mequon (6:35&nbsp;p.m.).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>The Lakeshore Chinooks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (DET) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
