\n\tMequon, WI – The Lakeshore Chinooks have had a great past year, including winning the 2014 Northwoods League Title. The success of recent continued this week, but in a different way. That was with the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft, where the club set a team record with 17 players, 15 former and 2 current, picked in the 40 rounds of the draft, giving the team 45 draftees in its history. The Chinooks have been a team for four years, and each year was represented in the draft, showcasing the kind of consistent talent that the club had been able to bring in.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tChinooks General Manager Dean Rennicke had this to say about his club’s success in the draft, “Having seventeen current or former Lakeshore Chinooks drafted in this year’s Major League Draft is a testimony to the quality of talent within this league and certainly over the past few seasons here with the Chinooks. These players dream of making the big leagues and this league will certainly help prepare them for that opportunity. We are thrilled for the players who were selected and now have the option to play professional baseball.”\n<\/p>\n
\n\tHere is a look at which Chinooks players were drafted as well as quick look back on each of their Chinooks careers.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tLHP Alex Young: Second Round, 43rd<\/sup> overall, by the Washington Nationals out of Texas Christian University<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tYoung played for the Chinooks in 2013, appearing in four games, three of which were starts. In his 19.1 innings pitched, he posted a 2.32 ERA with 21 strikeouts.\n<\/p>\n \n\tOF Andrew Stevenson: Second Round, 58th<\/sup> overall, by the Arizona Diamondbacks out of Louisiana State University <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tStevenson appeared alongside Young with the 2013 Chinooks. He hit .345 in 36 games with two homers and 14 RBIs.\n<\/p>\n \n\tOF Harrison Bader: Third Round, 100th<\/sup> overall, by the St. Louis Cardinals out of the University of Florida. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tBader played with Stevenson in the 2013 outfield, hitting .290 with three homers and 14 RBIs in 20 games.\n<\/p>\n \n\tRHP Eric Hanhold: Sixth Round, 181st<\/sup> overall, by the Milwaukee Brewers out of the University of Florida<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tHanhold is yet another 2013 Chinook and another University of Florida product. He threw 40.0 innings for the Chinooks that summer, compiling a 2.70 ERA, 27 strikeouts and 13 walks.\n<\/p>\n \n\t1B Ryan Krill: Ninth round, 273rd<\/sup> overall, by the New York Yankees out of Michigan State University<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tKrill was a Chinooks fan favorite, playing for the team in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He posted batting averages of .264, .282 and .249 in his three seasons with the team with 11 career homers.\n<\/p>\n \n\tLHP Will Headean: 13th<\/sup> round, 387th<\/sup> overall, by the San Diego Padres out of Illinois State<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tHeadean was a member of the 2014 Championship squad. He appeared in seven games, five starts, posting a 3.60 ERA.\n<\/p>\n \n\tOF Brett Siddall: 13th<\/sup> round, 298th<\/sup> overall, by the Oakland A’s out of Canisius College<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tSiddall is another member of the 2014 team, when he showed impressive power. On the year, he hit .313 with nine home runs and 43 RBIs.\n<\/p>\n \n\t2B Blake Butler: 15th<\/sup> round, 445th<\/sup> overall, by the Cincinnati Reds out of the College of Charleston<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tButler appeared for the Chinooks in 2014, hitting .268 with six homers and 26 RBIs.\n<\/p>\n \n\tLHP Justin Langley: 16th<\/sup> round, 476th<\/sup> overall, by the Miami Marlins out of the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tLangley represents the first of two 2015 Chinooks drafted. So far on the year, the left-hander has started two games, throwing to a 3.37 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 8.0 innings.\n<\/p>\n \n\tLHP Cam Vieaux: 19th<\/sup> round, 580th<\/sup> overall, by the Detroit Tigers out of Michigan State University<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tAnother 2014 Chinook, Vieaux made five starts for the team. In his 28.0 innings pitched, he struck out 18 and walked nine en route to a 2.89 ERA.\n<\/p>\n \n\tRHP David Lucroy: 20th<\/sup> round, 601st<\/sup> overall, by the Milwaukee Brewers out of East Carolina University<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe brother of current Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy, David was a part of the 2013 Chinooks. He made three starts that season, throwing to a 3.24 ERA.\n<\/p>\n \n\tC Zack Bowers: 24th<\/sup> round, 726th<\/sup> overall, by the San Francisco Giants out of the University of Georgia<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tBowers was played for the 2014 Championship team, hitting .265 with five homers and 26 RBIs.\n<\/p>\n \n\tRHP Mike Vinson: 24th<\/sup> round, 730th<\/sup> overall, by the Detroit Tigers out of the University of Florida<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tVinson was on the Chinooks roster back in 2013, appearing in four games for the team.\n<\/p>\n \n\tLF Sam Koenig: 27th<\/sup> Round, 825th<\/sup> overall, by the Los Angeles Angels out of the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tKoening was a member of the inaugural 2012 roster, playing eight games for the club.\n<\/p>\n \n\tC Mitch Ghelfi: 28th<\/sup> round, 841st<\/sup> overall, by the Milwaukee Brewers out of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tGhelfi joins Bowers as the second catcher drafted from the talented 2014 team. He appeared in 38 games for the club, hitting .289.\n<\/p>\n \n\tRHP Andrew Elliot: 30th<\/sup> round, 913th<\/sup> overall, by the Baltimore Orioles out of Wright State University<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tElliot was a key piece of the 2014 Chinooks bullpen. He posted a great 0.73 ERA with 35 strikeouts and just four walks across 19 relief outings while earning 13 saves.\n<\/p>\n \n\tRHP Shea Murray: 39th<\/sup> round, 1158th<\/sup> overall, by the Texas Rangers out of Ohio State University<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe second member of the 2015 Chinooks to be selected, the live-armed Murray has appeared out of the bullpen for the team. In 3.1 innings, he has struck out seven batters and posted a 5.40 ERA.\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe Lakeshore Chinooks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.
