\n\tMequon, WI – The Lakeshore Chinooks have added two more impact players to the 2016 line-up with the additions of Florida Gulf Coast’s Matt Reardon <\/strong>and Minnesota’s Riley Smith.<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

Matt Reardon – Florida Gulf Coast Eagles<\/p><\/div>Matt Reardon<\/strong>, a 6’0 infielder from Palm City, FL put together an outstanding freshman season in 2015 when he was named a NCBWA<\/em> Freshman All-American and a member of the Atlantic Sun All-Freshmen Team after hitting .311 and scoring 50 runs, second highest in the conference. Reardon’s debut for the Eagles allowed the team to move former Chinook second baseman Jake Noll to the outfield. This season, the versatile Reardon moved to shortstop, allowing Noll to return to second base and the two have been a dynamic combo in Fort Myers. Despite missing seven games with a leg injury, Reardon leads FCGU in hitting (.394) and has swiped five bases with a .441 on-base percentage. The speedy infielder has also scored 21 runs.\n<\/p>\n

Riley Smith – Minnesota Golden Gophers: Minnesota Athletic Communications<\/p><\/div>Riley Smith<\/strong> has spent this season as a true utility man in the Gophers’ infield. In his college debut, the 5’9 Smith went 4-for-5 with two doubles against Utah and has started games at both third base and second base. A native of Broken Arrow, OK, Smith led Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, OK to a 27-8 record in his senior season and helped them to an Oklahoma Class 6A runner-up finish in 2014. Smith has quickly made the transition to the Big Ten, starting nine games while hitting .297, slugging .486, and getting on base at a .381 clip. Smith’s versatility will be an important factor in Eddy Morgan’s early season line-ups.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tYou can catch your first glimpse of the 2016 Chinooks roster on Saturday, June 4th when Lakeshore takes on the Green Bay Bullfrogs at 6:35pm.
