\n\tMequon, WI- The Lakeshore Chinooks (12-15) fell to the Green Bay Bullfrogs on Monday night by a score of 4-3. Tyler Jandron (Northwood) was excellent for Lakeshore, allowing just one run over 5.2 innings.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Chinooks jumped out to the early 2-0 lead in the bottom half of the first inning, thanks to a 2-run home run from Rylan Thomas (Central Florida). Joe Duncan (Eastern Illinois) singled to center and later came around to score on the homer from Thomas that was launched to dead center.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe bottom of the 3rd<\/sup> inning featured a play that is rarely seen in baseball, a steal of home. Matthew Mika (Central Florida) led off the inning with a single and reached 2nd<\/sup> on a throwing error from Bullfrogs’ third baseman, Willie Bourbon. Green Bay starter, Will Gilbert, later balked Mika to 3rd<\/sup>, setting the stage for Nick Gatewood (Georgia State). With Gatewood batting, Mika broke for the plate after Bullfrogs’ Brad Hamilton threw the ball back to Gilbert. Mika caught the Bullfrogs sleeping, and extended the Lakeshore lead to 3.\n<\/p>\n \n\tIn the top of the 6th<\/sup>, Byron Hood (Nebraska) came on in relief of Tyler Jandron, who threw 96 pitches over 5.2 innings. Hood walked the first batter he faced, Alex Pener, and with the bases loaded, hit Brad Hamilton. Aaron Pleshcner came around to score after walking earlier in the inning, giving the Bullfrogs their first run of the game.\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe Bullfrogs broke through in the top of the 7th<\/sup>, plating three runs to take the lead. Aaron Pleschner hit a slow grounder to 3rd<\/sup> that looked like it was going to end the inning, but a poor throw from Chinooks’ Matt Burch (Arkansas) allowed Pleschner to reach 1st<\/sup> safely, but more importantly, allowed Willie Bourbon to score from 3rd<\/sup>. Next up was Troy Johnston, who hit a 2-run single, bringing home Pleschner and Ben Hart to give Green Bay its first lead of the game.\n<\/p>\n \n\tLakeshore looked to take back the lead in the bottom of the 8th<\/sup>, as the Chinooks loaded the bases with no outs. Darren Kelly, Bullfrogs’ reliever, was in some serious trouble, but somehow used his magic act and escaped the bases loaded jam without any damage at all.\n<\/p>\n \n\tNick Ohanian was called upon from the Green Bay bullpen in the bottom of the 9th<\/sup> to try and shut the door for the Bullfrogs and retired the Chinooks without allowing any runs. Ohanian earned the save for Green Bay, securing the Bullfrogs’ 4-3 win.\n<\/p>\n \n\tTyler Jandron was stellar once again for the Chinooks, allowing just one run over 5.2 innings. Jandron allowed just three hits and three walks, while striking out three. Through his first two starts of the season, Jandron has allowed just one run over 9.2 innings.\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe Lakeshore Chinooks (12-15) hit the road for a two-game series against the Wisconsin Woodchucks Tuesday and Wednesday, with Luke Sommerfeld taking the ball tomorrow night for Lakeshore at 6:35.\n<\/p>\n
