Mallards Have Chance to Clinch South<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Madison takes on Kalamazoo at 7:05 PM<\/em><\/p>\n

Madison, Wis. \u2013 \u00a0The Madison Mallards (17-13, 45-21) take on the Kalamazoo Growlers (16-15, 40-23) tonight at Warner Park with the chance to clinch the best record in the South Division this season. A win would give the Mallards home-field advantage during the first two games of the NWL Playoffs next week barring a win in Monday night\u2019s game.<\/p>\n

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM tonight and gates will open at 5:30. Kids under 12 eat free at tonight\u2019s ballgame and bring your glove because the first fan to catch a foul ball or a home run on the fly in his or her glove will win $1,000!<\/p>\n

Probable Pitchers<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mallards are scheduled to start Texas A&M lefty Dustin Saenz<\/strong>. Saenz holds a 3.73 ERA this summer and a 1-1 record through five starts. Saenz has tossed 21.2 innings and has struck out 22 batters. The southpaw has not allowed more than two earned runs in a single start all season and has allowed just six hits over his last 9.0 innings of work.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Kalamazoo hurler Foster Anshutz will oppose Saenz in Madison tonight. Anshutz will be making just his second start of the season and will be looking for his first win. Anshutz has tossed a total of 5.1 frames this summer and has allowed three runs on four hits and five walks.<\/p>\n

Players to Watch<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

OutfielderJake Randa <\/strong>(NW Florida State) has reached base in 16 straight games and has knocked in six runs over his last four games.<\/p>\n

Randa has totaled eight home runs and 50 RBI this summer through 63 games while posting a league-best .328 average. Randa also leads the league with 22 doubles.<\/p>\n

InfielderTrevor Schwecke <\/strong>(UW-Milwaukee) collected a pair of hits last night and once again raised his season batting average above .300. Schwecke has totaled 68 hits this season through 57 games and has knocked in 33 RBI while also leading the Mallards with 18 stolen bases.<\/p>\n
