\n\t\"Check_Presentation\"Madison, WI – November 26, 2013. Representatives from West Bend Mutual Insurance and the Madison Mallards presented a check for $5,375 to the United Way of Dane County at the completion of the Mallards season.  West Bend donated $25 every time a Mallards player scored a run at the "Duck Pond" this past summer.  The Mallards totaled 215 runs scored at home.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t"United Way is so pleased to partner with NSI\/West Bend Mutual and the Madison Mallards," said Renee Moe, Vice President of the United Way of Dane County.  "Innovative strategies to boost our ability to changes lives, increase awareness for our corporate partners, and generate even more fun and enthusiasm at our beloved Mallards games are critically important.  We are so thrilled to be able to help West Bend Mutual and the Mallards with their community outreach goals, and are so grateful for the generosity of West Bend Mutual's contribution which improves our community's education, safety and health."<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t"On behalf of West Bend Insurance and our 200 associates in Dane County," noted Bill Hutchison, Sr. Vice President of West Bend,  "we are proud to support the United Way of Dane County and the Goodman Community Center, in a variety of ways.  We also appreciate partnering with the Mallards, to have some fun in the process.  Both the United Way of Dane County and Goodman Community Center have a tremendously positive impact upon everyone in Dane County, whether or not they are a primary client."<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWest Bend also made a major contribution to the Goodman Community Center through the Mallards play on the field.  They donated $25 for every walk a Mallards batter drew.  With 164 walks at the "Duck Pond" West Bend donated a total of $4,100 to the Goodman Community Center.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Madison Mallards are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.  Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.  A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including MLB All-Stars Max Scherzer (DET), Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYY), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).  All league games are viewable live and free of charge via the Northwoods League YouTube Channel<\/a>.  For more information, visit www.mallardsbaseball.com<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
