\"TristanStraub\"Madison, WI – May 2, 2012. \u00a0The Madison Mallards are pleased to announce they have brought on a full-time executive chef to their staff. \u00a0The organization has hired Chef Tristan Straub.<\/p>\n

Straub has over 12 years of culinary experience as a supervisor, chef, and sous-chef. \u00a0Straub will oversee all culinary activity inside the “Duck Pond” including, the Great Dane Duck Blind, Maynard’s Slide-In, Stoddard’s Smokehouse, the Main Concession stand, and the TDS Triple Play club as well as various satellite stands. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Before coming to the Mallards, Straub served as a sous-chef for Hotel State College from 2000-2005 and was the Employee of the Year there in 2002. \u00a0He worked as a line cook for L’Etoile on the Madison capital square from 2005-2006 and as a prep chef at Maple Bluff Country Club from 2006-2012. \u00a0He also worked as a cook at Brickhouse BBQ from 2009-2012. \u00a0He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Arts at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. \u00a0He is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

“I jumped at the opportunity to be the Executive Chef for the Mallards,” said Straub. \u00a0“Baseball, cooking, and a plethora of pork? \u00a0It’s a culmination of everything I love in one fantastic ballpark! \u00a0I cannot wait to bring Mallards fans new, creative food items.”<\/p>\n

Straub plans to use his expertise in the kitchen to bring exciting new things to the “Duck Pond” menu. Come to a game this season if you want a chance to try Chef Tristan’s new take on classic ballpark favorites.<\/p>\n

“To me, Mallards games are defined as a unique combination of baseball, unique entertainment, and great food,” said Mallards President Vern Stenman. \u00a0“Bringing Tristan on board shows our commitment to connecting with our fans in the most direct way possible, through their stomachs!”<\/p>\n

The Mallards will host their season opener against the Battle Creek Bombers on May 30th at 7:05 pm at the “Duck Pond.” 7-Game Packs, season, and group tickets are on sale now!<\/p>\n
