May 28, 2012- Madison, WI. The Madison Mallards are excited to announce that Aaron Sims will be returning for his eighth consecutive year as the club’s P.A. announcer. This season marks Sims’ ninth year with the club overall, as he begun with the team in 2004 as a radio play-by-play announcer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I’m very excited to be coming back this year and work with the best run organization in baseball for another season,” Sims said, “The Mallards have continued to make improvements and give fans the best experience possible.”<\/p>\n

Fans can expect the same fun and engaging voice from Sims that has come to fill the “Duck Pond” during Mallards home games. Sine he took over in 2005 as the club’s P.A. announcer Sims has been a favorite of the Mallards faithful, keeping games exciting throughout the summer.<\/p>\n

“Mallards fans not only love great baseball but they also love to have fun,” Sims said, “It’s been a blast to be a part of this environment and meet so many great people.”<\/p>\n

In 2005 and 2006 he served in two roles with the team, as both the P.A. announcer and play-by-play broadcaster for the Mallards’ road games.<\/p>\n

The Mallards are not the only Wisconsin sports connection that Sims has. During the Mallards’ offseason he has worked with the Milwaukee Admirals hockey team as a broadcaster for the last seven years, and also updates content on their team’s blog. In addition to that role he also serves as the head of the organization’s outreach program.<\/p>\n

Sims is already thrilled for his eight year with the team to get underway.<\/p>\n

“It’s exciting to watch players in the Northwoods League and imagine them two or three years down the road,” Sims added, “Many of them will eventually develop into major league caliber players.”<\/p>\n

The 2012 season is upon us! Single-game tickets are on-sale for all Mallards home games!<\/p>\n

<\/a>The Mallards will host their season opener against the Battle Creek Bombers on May 30th at 7:05 pm at the “Duck Pond.” Fans take advantage of the team’s opening series special this Wednesday and Thursday, for $20 will receive two field box tickets, two hot dogs, and two sodas. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at 608-316-DUCK, or in-person at the “Duck Pond” ticket office.<\/p>\n

The Madison Mallards are part of the 16-team Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America.<\/p>\n
