{"id":2033,"date":"2013-08-09T16:43:16","date_gmt":"2013-08-09T16:43:16","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T05:00:00","slug":"mallardstohostcurdfestonaugust24thattheduckpond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/madison-mallards\/2013\/08\/09\/mallardstohostcurdfestonaugust24thattheduckpond\/","title":{"rendered":"Mallards to Host Curdfest On August 24th at the &#8216;Duck Pond&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Madison Mallards will host the first ever Curdfest presented by Wisconsin Cheese on August 24th from 1:00 pm &#8211; 5:00 pm. \u00a0This event is FREE and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Curdfest will feature cheese curd vendors from around the state of Wisconsin displaying the best curds Wisconsin has to offer. \u00a0Both fried and fresh curds will be available for purchase from these vendors. \u00a0The vendors will compete for Best Fresh Curd, Best Fried Curd, a Fan&#8217;s Choice Award, and the Best Overall Cheese Curd.<\/p>\n<p>The Mallards will also have many kids activities including inflatables, bobblehead ring toss, the prize wheel, a balloon artist and a petting zoo on the outfield! \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Hometown Sweethearts will be providing live entertainment from 1:30 pm &#8211; 3:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p>A free shuttle from the Nitty Gritty (downtown) will be running from 1:00-5:00 pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Other entertainment will include a cheese curd eating contest, cheese curd BINGO, and a cooking demonstration from Mallards Executive Chef Tristan Straub.<\/p>\n<p>The Madison Mallards are part of the 16-team Northwoods League. \u00a0The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. \u00a0In 2013, the Northwoods League is celebrating its 20th season.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"lazyload\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27600%27%20height%3D%27776%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20600%20776%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27600%27%20height%3D%27776%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"http:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/stories\/ORGANIZEDIMAGES\/Organization\/Curdfest_Poster_FINAL.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"776\" alt=\"Curdfest_Poster_FINAL\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Madison Mallards will host the first ever Curdfest presented by Wisconsin Cheese on August 24th from 1:00 pm &#8211;  [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[38],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2033","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-archived-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.5 (Yoast SEO v26.5) -
