The Madison Mallards are excited to announce that Jeff Dowd, the inspiration for the character \u201cthe Dude\u201d in the cult-hit film \u201cThe Big Lebowski\u201d will make an appearance at the Duck Pond on Friday, July 24!<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Presented by Dream Lanes<\/a> off Stoughton Road<\/st1:address><\/st1:street>, \u201cBig Lebowski Night\u201d will feature Dowd signing autographs & posing for pictures before the game. Then, immediately following the game, Dowd will provide commentary while the movie is shown in its entirety at Dream Lanes. Fans will also have the chance to bowl on one of the bowling center\u2019s 38 lanes!<\/span><\/p>\n

The 1998 comedy was written and directed by the famous Coen brothers and starred actor Jeff Bridges as \u201cThe Dude,\u201d an unemployed Los Angeles<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> slacker and avid bowler.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dowd is a Los Angeles-based writer\/producer, producer\u2019s representative, and a nationally recognized authority on marketing, distribution, and exhibition. According to JeffDowd.com<\/a> he has owned the nickname \u201cthe Dude\u201d since kindergarten with it so closely resembling his last name. <\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t want to drive? Every Friday will feature a free shuttle to the \u201cDuck Pond\u201d 30 minutes prior to gametime (6:30 p.m.) from both the Nitty Gritty (downtown) & Boston<\/st1:city><\/st1:place>\u2019s Restaurant & Sports Bar (Middleton). The bus will return fans back to these locations immediately following the game. You can\u2019t beat that!<\/span><\/p>\n
